18 Month Checkup

Madison was 18 months on Saturday, and she had her checkup this morning. The doctor thought everything was normal, and he didn't even seem that concerned about her walking. I told him that she cruises and pulls up on anything and everything, and she uses her stroller (a walk behind push toy) all the time. However, she just really needs to let go. He agreed, and he watched her walk while holding my hands. He just said to continue working with ECI. She got one shot today. Her last Hepatitis A shot. She won't get anymore shots now until she's 4. I'm glad. As soon as we started in the door at the doctor's this morning, her whole demeanor changed. She got really cranky and whiney. And as soon as we went back, she just went ballistic and cried and cried and cried. It was awful. I was glad that Jeff was with us. She goes back when she's 2. So, I'm hoping 6 months is enough time to forget about that place!!

Her stats were:
  • Weight: 24 lbs., 10 oz (50 to 75th percentile)
  • Length: 34 inches (95th plus percentile)
  • Head: 19.5 inches (95th plus percentile)
So, she still is really tall and has a really big head!! She's staying right on track for her stats. I would say she can say between 15 and 20 words. The doctor said he was looking for 6 to 10 words. Overall, she's a healthy and happy toddler!

In other news, Jeff left after her appointment for Florida. He gets back late Thursday night. My parents are coming up Thursday night, so that they can babysit Miss Madison on Friday. Friday is our 5th anniversary, so Jeff and I are going to spend the day together. We also got a hotel at the new Omni in downtown Ft. Worth for the night. So, Grammy and Grampy get to spend a lot of quality time with Madison. I'm sure they will be going to the pool. It's supposed to 100 or above the next several days.

I hope everyone is doing well. I hope to try and post some pics soon!
