It's been a few weeks since we have posted anything and its mainly because we have been extremely busy and I didn't want to post anything until I had good news to report. I am happy to say that I do have something good to report. I actually have a job!! I am going to work for Research in Motion (RIM) (the maker of the Blackberry phone) as the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist for all U.S. locations. The interview process moved very quickly. I had a phone interview with HR and in less than a week I had a phone interview with the hiring manager. A day after talking with the hiring manager, I received a call from HR that they wanted me to come to Canada to meet with some of the EHS dept. and that it was going to be short notice because they wanted me there 4 days later!! So, I flew to Toronto and they had a limo pick me up and take me to the hotel. I met with 5 people from the EHS dept and then was taken back to the airport. By the time I landed back in the U.S. I had an email from HR requesting my reference information and that a job offer was pending. Within just a few days, I had a job offer and eventually accepted the job. The down side to the job is that the working location is Irving/Dallas, TX at the U.S. headquarters. So, our house is officially on the market (we really don't want to move but we don't know when another job opportunity is going to come along.) RIM is paying to move us as well as providing temporary housing for 30 days. I officially start September 15 in Canada for 2 straight weeks (not coming home on the weekends) for training.
As soon as I accepted the job we got busy preparing our house to get ready to sell. The realtor makes us feel like the house needs to look like a museum/not lived in, so that has been a huge adjustment!
We have been so busy that we really haven't taken pictures of Madison. She is still growing. She's been sitting up a lot more and doesn't like to lay on her tummy time mat much. She's started to discover a lot more, anything within her reach she wants it. She has tried to punch numbers on our phone and my cell phone. She has discovered that crumbling and tearing paper is a lot of fun! I made the mistake of putting the laptop in front of her and she started pushing/hitting the keyboard. She hit the B key that the key actually popped off the keyboard!! Fortunately, I was able to get the key back on and it functions just fine!
I can't make any promises for when we will post again because we have a list of things that we need/want to do around the house.
