Independent Sitter...

Madison is really, really wanting to sit by herself. She HATES lying down now. She won't let you cradle her at all. She wants to sit up and see everything!! She's even started trying to sit up in her swing. I think the swings days are numbered! She leans to one side and then tries to pull herself up. Of course, she's all buckled in, and there is a tray so she's not going far. However, she puts so much weight on one side that it makes the swing stop! Here she is trying to sit up.

We go outside every night and see Nacho. It's usually after we eat and do the dishes. Madison loves to be outside. If she's ever fussy, we take her outside, and she calms right down. She also really likes it when Jeff and Nacho play. She loves to watch them go back and forth. She just laughs at them. Here's us last night sitting outside.

On another note, I weighed this weekend. I haven't weighed in like a month. BUT, I'm to my pre-pregnancy weight!!! YAY!!! I'm so excited!! Now, if I could just lose another 5 pounds I would be a lot happier. I think I've come to realize that my body is never going to be like it was, and I just need to learn to live with it. But, I think I would just be a lot happier losing 5 pounds. I think every woman wants to lose 5 or 10 pounds!!

Family update

It's been a while since we have posted an update on everything that is happening.

First and foremost, my job situation is still up in the air. I have had a few interviews recently that I am waiting on a decision to be made. I have applied to several places as well and am waiting to hear back. Madison is loving all of my time at home and I am to a point, but I am not wired to be a stay at home dad all of the time!

Jen is still trying to get used to the new job, however, she still really likes it and is learning a lot. The size of the company alone is overwhelming compared to where she used to work. I think that there are just as many if not more people in her new dept than was at her entire company at the last job!

Madison is getting into eating her solid foods. She really likes veggies. She has started eating entire jars in a sitting. The jars are supposed to be a single serving, but she is just now warming up to eating an entire jar. Fruit is another story. We really thought that she would eat fruit better than veggies, but we were wrong!!
Madison has started to pull herself up. We are starting to think that she is going to skip over the rolling over milestone. I have been trying to work with her more on tummy time and rolling so that she can do it on her own soon! She is becoming more independent and wants to sit up. She just needs to get the art of catching herself with her arms! The catching herself is going to take some more work.

Nacho has been spending more time inside at night lately than we would like. It's not because of the weather. It's because of fireworks! He is very "gun shy". We usually can tell when they are being shot off without hearing them because he is whining at the back door. Hopefully the fireworks supplies will be gone very soon so that he can stay outside at night.

Over 1000 people have viewed the blog!!

We had no idea that our life would be so interesting for our friends, family and strangers to look at!! We know it's not 1000 different people looking at the blog, but its the thought the counts. We know we have a few addicted people who religiously look at the blog, some many times a day (bored at work we are guessing).

We hope that you continue to enjoy reading what is happening in our lives. We know that we can be sporadic in posting, but that's just life right now (either we are too busy to post or we don't think what we are doing is blog material).

Easy Entertaining with Madison...

Many of you have probably seen the show on the Food Network Show Easy Entertaining with Michael Chiarrello. We filmed Madison's version of it tonight (focusing on the easy entertaining part...). I discovered this weekend that it doesn't take a whole lot to get her to laugh (this wasn't my first time discovering it, for those of you wondering!!). I was just sticking my tongue out and make a noise and she would start laughing. She would get into little laughing fits, it was really funny.

Here are a few video snippets of what we captured...

Zooooom Zooooom.....

We got this car from one of my best friends and his new wife before Madison was born. We've been dying to use it ever since we put it together. It's been sitting in our living room for a long, long time. It's kinda been a catch all for Madison's toys. We've been saying for 2 weeks now that we need to put her in the car, but we always forget. So, we got it out tonight. She seemed to like it fairly well. She didn't know what to do. She kept leaning forward and trying to eat the steering wheel! The steering wheel has all kinds of buttons on it that play songs, and there is actually a horn. She kept pushing the horn with her mouth. It was cute, and then she would laugh. There's also buttons she can push with her feet. She did that a few times, and didn't know what she had done. It was really cute because she would push those and it would make all kinds of noise, and she would just have this look at me with this look of total confusion. So, I see her using the car more and more!
