Changes...

Since my life isn't hectic enough right now, I decided to change jobs. Last week, I accepted a position with Samson. I will still be a geological technician, and I will be working in their tight unconventional gas group. I'm very, very excited about this opportunity. I will hopefully be able to learn a lot of new things, and I know I'm going to be exposed to a lot. They work the entire US, where as Strat Land only worked the panhandles of Texas and Oklahoma.

Everyone at Strat Land is sad, yet very excited for my opportunity. It's very hard for me to believe that I've been working at Strat Land for over 7 years now!! I'm going to miss a lot of people, but I'll still be working downtown, so I hope to still be able to have lunch with everyone from time to time. My last day is June 5th, and I start at Samson on June 16th. I will have a week off in between, and I'm hoping to just hang out with Madison and Jeff.

Yard Work

We did some yard work this morning, and Madison got to watch. She was out with us at first, but then she got tired. I tried to get her to take a nap, but she's decided that she doesn't like naps anymore. She's been a bear to try and take a nap this week. I don't know what's gotten into her. Finally, I gave up and fed her, and we came back out after that. She just sat in her chair and watched us work. She really doesn't like the sunglasses either. They are too big, and I've tried to adjust them so the strap isn't so big. However, she doesn't like them. I keep telling her that she needs to leave them on because she looks so cute in them!

Weight Loss

I haven't posted much about my weight loss in awhile, so I thought I would give a brief update. I'm almost there!! I have 3 pounds to go to be back to my pre-pregnancy weight. Of course, just because I get down to the weight doesn't mean my clothes are going to fit. I'm slowly starting to get into some of them, which is very exciting. We got the Wii Fit yesterday, so I'm hoping to use that to be able to tone up a little bit. I only got to try it for a little bit last night, but it was a lot of fun. I can definitely see myself using it. So, that's my update!

BOB

I have a secret love, and his name is BOB. Yes, that's right, BOB. Of course, BOB is a stroller. I absolutely LOVE this stroller. BOB is the brand name, and the model is the Revolution. It is such a great stroller. We originally bought it just to use when we walk or if we ever start running again. However, we use it as our everyday stroller too. It can go anywhere and everywhere. It turns on a dime, and it really isn't that bulky or heavy. We bought a Bumbleride Flyer when I was pregnant. We really liked it because the handle reversed so it could be used as a pram. We used it a lot when Madison was first born. However, the handlebar wasn't comfortable for either of us. It is adjustable, but we couldn't ever get it right. Also, the back wheels were too close together if you were going to try and walk at a fast pace, you end up kicking the wheels the entire time. Jeff had originally wanted the BOB Revolution. You can buy a car seat adapter to be used from the beginning, but our car seat wouldn't fit. And, I was unwilling to change our car seat. I guess we should have changed our car seat and just went with BOB from the beginning. I highly recommend this stroller. By the way, we got it on Ebay for a whole lot less than what it retails for!! And, we have had it for a few months now, so we really have used it.

Nacho

It was pointed out to me by a co-worker that we hardly had any pics of Nacho on here. So since it was really nice today, We spent some time outside with him while Madison napped. I took several shots of him. I don't want him to feel neglected!

So Big...

These are just a few shots of her doing tummy time. She LOVES to look at herself in the mirror. She usually just grins at herself. It's so cute. I tried to catch a shot of that, but every time I took the pic she wasn't smiling.

Our little girl is just soooo big now. I just can't get over how much she is growing and changing day by day. It's such a wonderful thing to watch her learn something new each and every day. We are so blessed to have her in our lives!

Jeff, Madison, and Abby

Yes, your eyes don't deceive you....that is Abby on Jeff's lap!!! We have no idea why she got on him. She never pays him any attention except when he is fixing lunch. He gives her some of his lunch meat when he is fixing his lunch. I think she must be feeling really, really neglected. Madison just watched her until I got out the camera, and then she started looking at me. Of course, I never could get her smiling, but she's cute none the less!!

Starting Solids

We started Madison on rice cereal tonight. She wasn't too sure about it. She actually took a lot for her first time. I fed it to her first. She really wouldn't open her mouth for me though. So, that made it a little difficult!!

Jeff got to feed her second, and she did much better for him than me. However, she was starting to get a little cranky, and she just wanted a bottle. BUT, she did open her mouth really wide for him. She is a Daddy's girl though, so she does a lot more things for him than for me.

It's hard to believe that our little, little baby is already starting to eat solids. Where did the last 4.5 months go!! She's so big now!!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Kermit the Frog

Madison has a new friend. We named him Kermit, since it's a frog! She loves this little stuffed animal. My friend, Carisa, gave him to me at my shower. If you remember, she's also the one that knitted her the booties. So, she has scored yet again in the gift department!! Thanks Carisa!!

Miss Madison won't let go of Kermit at times. She talks to him too. She actually got to take Kermit to bed tonight. However, she was being crazy and talking once I put her in the crib. After close to an hour of this, Jeff went in to check on her, and she had done a 180 in her crib. I guess her head was opposite of the end we always put her on!! So, I don't know if Kermit got her all excited or what!! We might have to think about not letting Kermit sleep with her if this keeps up!

Wedding Fun!

We attended a wedding for one of my best friends this weekend, Ben and Magan. We all got to get dressed up, including Miss Madison. Her Daddy was just glad that we didn't dress her in something pink. However, you'll notice that her pacifier is pink!!

We also took a family pic before we left the house. My mom took it. This is the only one she took that wasn't blurry!! However, it still turned out really good.

There were other friends from high school there. It was good to see everyone, and to show off our most prized possession, Madison!

Here's Tim and Julie.

Here's one of Julie and me. We don't have that many pics of us together. The only ones I have, besides high school ones, are of us at her wedding.

Here's Ryan and his fiance Linda. I haven't seen Ryan in ages, and it was the first time I got to me Linda. Of the little I talked to her, she was great. We get to go to their wedding in August!

Miss Madison did really well at the wedding. Everyone commented at how laid back she was. However, she really just wanted her Daddy most of the night. Here's one of us at the reception.

And, this is how Madison spent about half of the reception.

Don't mind the blank look on Jeff's face. I think he had been drinking...but it was only one beer!!

Overall, we had a really good time at the wedding, and it was a lot of fun to take Madison out.

Someone's being silly...

Jen ordered a new lighter weight sling to carry Madison around in. Jen put Madison in the sling to see how she would do since she's a lot bigger and is able to sit in different positions.

Madison has discovered that she likes seeing herself in the mirror. Jen put Madison in the sling and went into the bathroom so that she could see herself. As you will be able to see from the video, she thought it was really funny. Madison had been laughing for almost 5 minutes before Jen decided to get the video camera to capture her being silly.

The Drooling Tongue...

Grammy took all these pictures today. She's been having a blast with Miss Madison. She's definitely over her stranger anxiety with her, but Grampy and Grandpa are a different story. They came up here this afternoon for a couple of hours, but Madison wasn't really sure of them. She had the most fun just being in her high chair or her swing. She's been really sticking out her tongue. Grammy caught this one while she was swinging.

Jeff and I had been thinking for some time now that we were going to get her a real bouncer seat. The seat she has just vibrates, and there's not much to it. It was great when she was a newborn, but now that she's getting older it's just not that much fun. So, mom and I went to Target today, and I looked at bouncers. I decided to get this infant to toddler rocker instead. It can hold up to 40 pounds, and it can be used as a toddler chair. Madison seemed to really like it. Here she is playing with the toys on it.

She's REALLY been drooling a lot lately. Her pour face is all broken out in a rash. I've been putting Aquaphor on it, and it seems to help a little. She just doesn't stop drooling enough for it to clear up. So in this pic, you can really see all the drool on her chin, and you can also tell her onesie is soaked. BUT, she's still the cutest baby in the whole wide world!!
