I was surfing the net after Thanksgiving looking for something creative to do with Madison's hand or foot prints. I ran across the idea of reindeer feet on someone's blog. You basically do foot prints on a blank canvas and then paint on the antlers, eyes, use a finger print for the nose. Then you take grosgrain ribbon and hot glue around the edges. It sounded super easy, and it was sooo cute. I showed Jeff, and we decided to do it for ourselves and the Grandparents. I bought all the supplies and we did it a few weekends ago. It wasn't that hard, but Madison absolutely hates her feet messed with, so it was a bit of an ordeal. After the feet, we decided not to do the finger print for the nose. So, I just painted everything else. The Grandparents seemed to think they were really, really cute. And, I absolutely love mine! Here's the result...

Holiday Wrap Up
Well, we have survived the holidays. And, we are really looking forward to things going back to normal. We had a lot of house guests over the past several weeks, not that we didn't love having them, but it was a lot of work!

This is a pic of the 3 of us. I was trying to show our matching pj's!
Here's the back of Madison's. They had a drop seat with her name embroidered on them! They were sooo cute!!

My parents arrived around 12:30, and Jeff's mom got here around 4:30 or so. Here are my parents playing with Madison and all her presents.

My parents stayed until Saturday. My dad actually switched out the light fixtures in all 3 bathrooms. I absolutely hated them. I hated them when we bought the house, and I knew we would change them fairly quickly. When they were here for Madison's birthday, my dad changed out the breakfast nook and the dining room light fixtures. So, now every light, except the recessed lights, have been changed! They look so much better, and it just classes up this house a ton. I'm very thankful for my dad!!
We didn't do a whole lot over the weekend. Like I said, Mom and Dad left Saturday afternoon, and Jeff's mom left Sunday afternoon. We both just crashed after that. Today we ran errands and just messed around the house. Jeff is going back to work tomorrow. He will be off again on Thursday. I'm sure we won't do much on New Year's Eve but lay around. And, that's okay with me!!
Jeff and I made a rule before we ever had kids that when we did have kids that Christmas morning would just be us...no other relatives, just us. My family did that, and it was always special to me to just spend time with my parents and enjoy each other. So, no one arrived until Christmas afternoon.
Here's the tree Christmas morning before Miss Madison got up.
Here is Madison opening gifts.
My parents arrived around 12:30, and Jeff's mom got here around 4:30 or so. Here are my parents playing with Madison and all her presents.
My parents anniversary is the day after Christmas. I think it was noon before it hit my mom that it was their anniversary!! They've been married for 33 years! Here's Dad rubbing lotion on my mom's feet. It was a rare sight!!
I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas, and everyone has a spectacular New Year's!

1 Year Checkup
Madison had her one year checkup with her new pediatrician, Dr. Crary. Jeff wasn't going to come, but in the end we thought it might be best if Jeff went and met the new doctor. He is apart of Kid Care Pediatrics. It is a much larger practice than the one in Tulsa. We both seemed to like the new doctor. He was younger (late 30s), and he was very good with Madison, and I felt he really wanted to listen and answer our questions. Madison ended up getting 4 shots. She was supposed to get 3, but she was behind on her polio vaccine. Needless to say, she wasn't a happy camper. I'm so glad that her Daddy was there, because I'm sure that she would have never calmed down for me.
Her stats:
- Length: 30 1/4 inches (80th percentile)
- Weight: 22 pounds 4 ounces (68th percentile)
- Head: 18 3/4 inches (96th percentile)
So, she has dropped back a little on height. She's usually off the charts or close to it. We discussed with him the fact that she hasn't started pulling up, and that she just started to crawl in the last 4 to 6 weeks. He agreed that she is probably just a late bloomer, and if she's still not pulling up and "cruising" by her 15 month appointment then she would need to get evaluated. So, I'm really hoping that she will be pulling up by then.
In other news, she's still a little congested with drainage, and I am too. I don't know if it is the stupid weather, or if Jeff keeps giving it to us. I actually think it might be a combo! She's not running a fever or anything, and I asked the doctor, and he said that he didn't see anything, and it was probably a cold. I'm really hoping that tomorrow Madison and I both make a full recovery. I really, really don't want to be sick on Christmas. We were already sick on Thanksgiving! I probably should have been in bed early tonight, but Jeff and I rewrapped her Christmas presents. I took everything out of the packaging and then put them back in the box and wrapped them. So, we just finished that, and I'm going to bed. Hopefully, I will be well in the morning!
Merry Christmas!

First Birthday!!
Today was Miss Madison's first birthday. I can't believe that a year has already flown by. We have been through a lot as a family in this short year, and her Daddy and I can't imagine our lives without her. I seriously don't know what we did before she came along. We love her very, very much!

We brought all her presents into the living room and set them up in front of the TV. She had a lot of loot for not very many people being here!! She's a very loved little girl.
Then we opened up presents. She had a lot of fun, but it got to be a little too much. By the end, she was way overstimulated. Plus, it didn't help that every time she would unwrap something, Daddy would take it away to get it out of the packaging. We've learned our lesson on that one. I'm even thinking about redoing her gifts that are wrapped. It would have been much better had we taken the gifts out of the packaging and just wrapped them.

This was by far her favorite gift. We gave her a cabbage patch kid newborn. I wanted to give her her first doll, and it was very hard to find just a doll that didn't do anything. Everyone I would find, would cry, wet, etc. I just wanted a plain doll. I'm so glad that she liked it so much!

We were a little worried about Joby's present because it was all about farm animals, and Miss Madison is terrified of cows! However, she didn't seem to either see or mind the cow, but she loved to chew on Old MacDonald!
After the gifts, we did her cupcakes. She had a ton of fun!! Of course, she crashed later on.

About halfway through, my Mom reminded me that we totally forgot her party hat!! So, we got a couple of cute ones with her in it before it was in the cupcake too!

This is all her gifts that she got!
We had a lot of fun today. She was really into ripping off the wrapping paper, and she loved her cupcake. She wasn't in a very good mood after she woke up from her nap. We really thought it was from the sugar, but now she's running a slight fever (~100). However, she was really chomping on her paci and tugging at her ears. So, we really think it is her just teething. We gave her some motrin and rocked her for a little bit. She's finally asleep now. Hopefully, she will be all better tomorrow. We go to the peditrician on Tuesday for her one year checkup. So, if it is still lingering, I will definitely bring it up.
Grammy and Grampy came in on Friday, and Joby came on Wednesday night. Joby actually left this morning, so she missed out on all the fun!! We decorated the breakfast nook last night. I made cupcakes yesterday, and we put them out right before we had her party.
I thought the little decorations turned out great, and I LOVED her cupcake tree. I wanted a cupcake tree at our wedding reception, but I didn't get it. I think they are so cute, and I love cupcakes!!
Grampy played with Miss Madison while we got everything set up. They had a lot of fun, and she's slowly becoming a Grampy's Girl!
Here are a few of her opening presents.
Happy Birthday Madison!! Mommy and Daddy love you very much!!
